[sugj-tech:7521] vfs_fruit.8 で分からないところ

今、vfs_fruit.8 を訳しています。このモジュールはMac OS X との
互換性を向上させるためのモジュールです。
とりあえずこんな感じです。

分からないのは、 boils down 。煮詰める、という意味があるのですが、
ここのところの意味が取れません。
